Water, Solar & Food
Dominic Community School has its own ingenious water supply. Rainwater from the school's roof is collected and stored in two huge underground tanks. This is enough to supply the school's needs throughout Uganda's two long dry seasons.
Solar panels are being installed to pump water from the underground holding tanks into a water tower. Gravity will then feed the kitchen and garden taps.
Food has been grown on site since early 2019 when the school first opened. A wide variety of typical fruits and vegetables fill the whole of our lower terrace, including bananas, mangos, beans, yams, cassava and motoke.
